Stories from Family & Friends

Our families and friends 'live with' our depression and you need support too!

Living with and/or loving, caring about, someone who is suffering the symptoms of depression can be incredibly difficult.  The depression warps our thinking, fools us with strange emotions and contrary reactions, and all too often has us pushing away those we love and need the most.    At the time when communication is most needed, we tend to withdraw, leaving those who care for us lost and confused at best, at worst, hurt and resentful.

Sharing our thoughts and feelings and experiences with others, and being able to read about theirs, can be incredibly helpful.  The following contributions have been sent in by people who have a family member, friend or other loved one who has depression.

You Are Not Alone!
